- Named and formatted for CIBC Cash Management Online, ready to upload as is.
CIBC
CIBC commercial clients upload EFT files through CIBC Cash Management Online. Your CIBC commercial banking or cash management representative enrols your company in the EFT service, defines who can upload and approve, and assigns an Originator ID that identifies your company on each file.
With Zefty, you enter your Originator ID and account details once. Every file you generate afterwards from Zoho Books is built to CPA 005 and named and formatted the way CIBC Cash Management Online expects, ready to upload as is. Validate a test file first, then pay vendors in a few clicks.
How it works
-
Enable EFT origination with CIBC
Contact your CIBC commercial banking representative and request EFT origination on CIBC Cash Management Online. CIBC confirms the service agreement, approval rules and file limits before activation.
-
Get your Originator ID
CIBC issues your Originator ID when the service is active. It identifies your company on every file, so keep it exactly as CIBC wrote it.
-
Confirm your account details
Gather the transit number of your branch, the institution number 010 and your business account number. A cheque or your account details in CIBC Cash Management Online confirms all three.
-
Enter them in Zefty once
Choose CIBC during setup, enter your business name as CIBC has it, your Originator ID and your account details. Zefty keeps them for every file that follows.
-
Generate, upload and approve
Select bills, choose a payment date and download your file. Upload it in CIBC Cash Management Online, approve it, and Zefty records the corresponding payments in Zoho Books.
Help
- Upload the file exactly as Zefty names it. CIBC recognizes it as is, so there is nothing to rename.
- Generate your first CIBC file in test mode and ask CIBC to validate it. Nothing is recorded in Zoho Books until you go live.
- Check the live total of your selection before you generate. It is the amount CIBC will see, partial payments included.
- Every file is kept with a readable report of exactly what CIBC received, ready for your auditor or your approver.
CIBC and Zefty: common questions
CIBC provides it when it enrols your company in EFT origination, typically in the service confirmation from your commercial banking representative. Contact CIBC if you cannot find it.
Yes. Vendors at CIBC, at a credit union or at any other Canadian bank are paid from the same file. Zefty takes each vendor's banking details from Zoho Books, so you never retype them.
Contact CIBC right away to cancel the file before it is processed; approval and release always stay in your bank portal. The file and its report remain in your Zefty history, and support can help you tidy up Zoho Books if needed. Using test mode for any new setup avoids the situation entirely.
No. A test file is complete and marked as a test, and no payment is recorded in Zoho Books. Your bills stay open until you generate a live file.
