Zoho Books EFT integration for Canadian businesses

Zefty connects to Zoho Books securely, reads your vendors and unpaid bills, produces the EFT 1464 file for your bank and records every payment back in Zoho Books. You keep working in Zoho Books; Zefty handles the bank file.

What you get from the connection

Vendors with their banking details

Every vendor arrives with the account, transit and institution numbers you already keep in Zoho Books. Nothing is retyped, so wrong payees and transposed digits disappear.

Only unpaid bills, so nothing is paid twice

Bills already paid or voided in Zoho Books never show up in Zefty. What you see is what is still owed, with the balance to date.

Only approved bills, when you want

Point Zefty at the Zoho Books view your approval process already uses and only those bills can be paid. Leave it off and every unpaid bill is available.

Payments recorded against the right bank account

Each payment Zefty records in Zoho Books is applied to the bank account you pay from, so your bank reconciliation stays clean.

How the connection is made

  1. Choose your Zoho region

Zoho Books runs in two regions, zoho.com and zohocloud.ca. Pick the one your account uses; our support team can confirm it if you are unsure.

  2. Identify your organization

Tell Zefty which Zoho Books organization to connect. If you manage several companies, each one gets its own organization in Zefty.

  3. Authorize from your Zoho account

Approve the connection from your Zoho account in a few clicks. Zoho shows you what Zefty is asking for, and your Zoho password stays with Zoho.

  4. The first sync runs on its own

As soon as you approve, Zefty imports your vendors and then your unpaid bills. You can follow the progress from your dashboard.

  5. You are ready to pay

Your bills are in Zefty with their banking details. Select what to pay, generate the file and upload it to your bank. See the full setup.

US and Canadian Zoho regions

Zefty works with both Zoho regions (zoho.com and zohocloud.ca). You pick yours during setup, and Zefty uses it for every sync and every payment record from then on. If you are not sure which one your account uses, our support team can tell you.

Payments recorded in Zoho Books

When you generate a real payment file, Zefty records a payment in Zoho Books for each bill in it, with the amount you chose, the payment date you set and the bank account you pay from. Partial payments leave the remaining balance open on the bill. Your payment history in Zefty links each bill to its payment in Zoho Books, so any line in a bank file leads back to its accounting entry. In test mode, nothing is recorded and your books stay untouched.

Zefty and the Zoho ecosystem

Zefty is built for Zoho Books and uses only Zoho's official, documented interfaces, asking for no more access than it needs. No Zoho extension needs to be installed; you authorize the connection from your own Zoho account and can revoke it at any time. Browse the Zoho Marketplace for other Zoho Books integrations, or write to us if you work with a Zoho partner who should be involved in your setup.

No. Zefty only reads your bills, vendors and banking details. The one thing it writes is the payment for each bill you pay, exactly what you would enter by hand after uploading a bank file.

Zefty refreshes your vendors and bills every night and whenever you ask. A bill entered in Zoho Books can be paid from Zefty the same day.

In Zoho Books, where you already keep them. Zefty reads them from the vendor record and never asks you to enter them a second time. Vendors with incomplete details are flagged, and their bills stay blocked until the details are complete.

Yes. Each organization in Zefty connects to one Zoho Books organization, with its own region and its own bank. Create one organization per company and switch between them from the same login. Multi-organization is available on the Team and Premium plans.

Yes, at any time, from your Zoho account. Zefty loses access immediately and stops syncing. Your existing files and reports in Zefty stay available to download.
