Everything you need to pay vendors by EFT from Zoho Books
Zefty turns the bills you approve in Zoho Books into a CPA 005 compliant EFT 1464 file your Canadian bank accepts, then records every payment back in Zoho Books. Minutes instead of hours, nothing retyped, and a clear record of every file you send.
Your bills, ready to pay
Vendors and bills stay in Zoho Books, where your team already enters and approves them. Zefty keeps its list current every night and on demand, so what you see is what you can pay.
Up to date every morning
Bills approved yesterday are waiting for you today. Zefty refreshes your vendors and unpaid bills every night, without anyone importing or exporting anything.
Current whenever you need it
A bill entered a moment ago can be paid right away. Refresh on demand and watch the update happen in real time.
Only approved bills reach the payment queue
Point Zefty at the Zoho Books view your approval process already uses, and only the bills in that view can be paid. Your controls in Zoho Books decide what is payable; Zefty follows them.
Vendor banking details, straight from Zoho Books
Account, transit and institution numbers come from the vendor record you already maintain in Zoho Books. Nothing is retyped, so transposed digits and wrong payees disappear. Vendors with missing details are flagged before they can hold up a payment.
Pay exactly what you approve
Select the bills for this run, adjust amounts where needed and see the total before you commit. What you approve is what goes in the file, to the cent.
Everything you need on one line
Vendor, reference, due date, total, balance and banking status sit side by side, so you can decide what to pay without opening each bill. The list updates itself as new bills arrive.
Partial payments, balance left open
Pay part of a bill today and the rest later. The amount you choose goes in the file and in the payment recorded in Zoho Books, and the bill keeps its remaining balance until you settle it.
The total, before you commit
As you select bills, the total updates in real time. Check it against the funds in your account before you generate the file, not after the bank has it.
No file with a hole in it
A bill whose vendor is missing banking details is blocked before a file exists. You fix the vendor once in Zoho Books, and the bank never sees an incomplete payment.
A bank-ready file in one click
Choose a payment date, generate the file and download it. It is named and formatted the way your bank's portal expects, ready to upload as is.
Accepted by your bank the first time
Every file is built to Payments Canada Standard 005 and to the format your bank expects, with totals and numbering handled for you. No template, no counting characters, no rejection notice days later.
You choose the payment date
Set the date the bank should settle the transfers. Prepare Friday's run on Wednesday or line a batch up with month end, without touching anything by hand.
File numbering handled for you
Each file gets the next number automatically, including when you move to Zefty from another system. Your bank never sees a duplicate.
Test mode for a safe first run
Validate your setup with your bank before any real money moves. Test files are clearly marked and nothing is recorded in Zoho Books. When the bank confirms, switch test mode off and pay for real.
Compliance handled for you
Payments Canada Standard 005 (CPA 005) defines how EFT files must be built, and each bank adds its own requirements. Zefty applies all of them for you, for nine Canadian banks.
Checked before you download
Every file is verified as it is built. If something at the source needs attention, you find out in Zefty, not in a rejection notice days later.
Nine Canadian banks
BMO, CIBC, Desjardins, HSBC Canada, Laurentian Bank, National Bank, RBC, Scotiabank and TD Canada Trust. Choose your bank once during setup, and every file after that matches its portal. See the bank pages.
Your bank identity, entered once
Your originator ID and the business name registered with your bank are entered once and applied to every file exactly as the bank expects. Nothing to remember, nothing to retype.
Proof for every payment
Every file you produce is kept, with what was in it, when it was created and the payment date used. Months later, you can answer any question from an auditor, a board or your bank.
Download any file again
Every file stays available with its number, total, creation date and payment date. If the bank asks you to resubmit, download it again in seconds.
A readable report for every file
Each file comes with a plain-language PDF report that shows every payment it contains. Auditors and bank representatives can read it without technical help.
Every payment traced to Zoho Books
Your payment history lists each paid bill with the payment recorded in Zoho Books. Any line in a bank file leads back to the bill and the accounting entry.
A dashboard for accounts payable
Pending bills, payments this week and a payments chart for the period you choose. Enough to run accounts payable at a glance.
Built for teams and multi-entity accounting
Accounting firms and groups with several companies work from one login, with a separate organization for each company, each connected to its own Zoho Books and its own bank.
Several companies, one login
Add an organization for each company you pay for, each with its own Zoho Books connection, bank and file numbering. Switch between them without signing out.
Add or remove users any time
One user is included with every plan. On Team, add colleagues at $14 per additional user per month and remove them when they leave; Premium includes unlimited users.
The right access for each person
Give a bookkeeper access to one client organization and a controller access to all of them. Removing someone from an organization cuts their access to its bills, vendors and files right away.
Security you can explain to your bank
Payment data deserves clear answers. Here is what Zefty does with yours, and what it never touches.
Vendor banking data encrypted at rest
Your vendors' account, transit and institution numbers are encrypted in storage. A copy of the data on its own does not expose anyone's bank details.
Zefty never sees your Zoho password
You authorize the connection from your Zoho account in a few clicks. Zefty never sees or stores your Zoho password, and you can revoke access from your Zoho account at any time.
Two-factor authentication
Turn on an authenticator app so a leaked password alone cannot open your payment files. Your subscription is billed through Stripe's secure checkout; card details never touch Zefty. Read the security page.
Canadian and bilingual
Zefty is designed and supported in Canada. The application, the help centre and the support team work in English and French.
English or French, your choice
Every screen and notification is available in English and Quebec French. Each user picks their own language, so colleagues in the same organization can work in different ones.
Support in your language
Our Canadian team answers by email in English or French, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern. Existing customers can also open a request from inside the app.
Priced in Canadian dollars
Plans are priced in CAD, taxes are added at checkout, and billing is monthly with no long-term contract. No exchange-rate surprises on your statement. See pricing.
Questions about Zefty features
No. Zoho Books stays your system of record: you enter and approve bills there, and Zefty turns the approved ones into a bank file. Every payment is then recorded in Zoho Books automatically, so your books stay current.
Yes. Enter the amount you want to pay and Zefty uses it in the bank file and in the payment recorded in Zoho Books. The bill keeps its remaining balance for a later run.
The bill is flagged and cannot be added to a file, so the bank never receives an incomplete payment. Add the banking details to the vendor in Zoho Books and the bill becomes payable at the next refresh.
With test mode on, files are marked as tests and nothing is recorded in Zoho Books. Send one to your bank to confirm your setup, then turn test mode off and pay for real. Nothing moves until you do.
Only what it needs to read your vendors and bills and to record payments. It never edits, deletes or approves bills or contacts, and you can revoke access from your Zoho account at any time.
Yes, on the Team and Premium plans. Each company is a separate organization with its own Zoho Books connection, bank and users, and you switch between them from the same login.
