Six months of Zefty product updates, in one place. Between November 2025 and April 2026 the work fell into six themes: an onboarding guide with screenshots, an in-app support form, a complete French experience, new public pages, more reliable synchronization with Zoho Books, and a better administration panel. Some changes are visible the moment you log in; others are fixes you will only notice because something that used to interrupt you no longer does.
Onboarding documentation
Connecting Zoho Books to a payment tool involves screens on three different sites: Zefty, Stripe and the Zoho API console. New customers told us the hardest part was knowing what to click next.
- A public onboarding guide now walks through the whole setup with sixteen numbered screenshots: organization details, subscription checkout, bank setup, creating the Zoho API client and authorizing access.
- The setup forms themselves (bank setup and Zoho configuration) link directly to the relevant step of the guide, so help is one click away when a field is unclear.
- The guide is available in English and French, with a language switcher on the page, and is linked from the footer of every public page.
Support form
Support used to mean writing an email and hoping you included the right details. Now there is a Support request form inside the application, reachable from the user menu.
- You choose a subject from a fixed list: General Inquiry, Books Synchronization Error, Payment File Error, Support Request, Billing Inquiry or Other. Picking the right subject routes the request to the right person faster.
- Each request emails our Canadian support team and opens a ticket, so nothing gets lost in an inbox.
- The public contact form on the website was rebuilt on the same foundation and now sends a confirmation to the sender.
A Billing subject was added shortly after launch because subscription questions turned out to be the most common request.
French experience
Zefty is a Canadian product with support in English and French, and the application should read naturally in both. Over the winter the French experience was completed end to end:
- Login and registration pages are fully translated.
- The organization setup, bank setup and subscription steps were translated, including field help text such as the format of the bank emitter ID and the transit number.
- The onboarding guide was translated as described above.
- Language handling was simplified so that choosing French in the user menu applies consistently across the application and the public site, instead of depending on which address you used to sign in.
If you notice a string that is still in English while you are working in French, use the support form; it is exactly the kind of report that gets fixed quickly.
Marketplace and legal pages
Three public pages were added or rebuilt:
- A Zoho Marketplace page describing the integration, using the official Zoho Books product logo.
- A Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, both in English and French. A Limitations section was added to the Terms in February to state clearly what Zefty does and does not do on your behalf.
- The header and footer of the public site were unified so every page, including the legal pages, has the same navigation and the same link to the onboarding guide.
Sync reliability
Most of the engineering time in this period went to making the connection with Zoho Books quieter and more predictable.
- Expired Zoho access tokens no longer cause a sync or a payment write-back to fail. Tokens are now refreshed automatically before every call, across bill sync, vendor sync and vendor payment posting.
- The nightly sync was re-enabled after a temporary pause and has run on schedule since.
- Bill selection totals were corrected: the Selected Total shown when you tick bills in the Bills table now always matches the amounts that go into the file, including partial payments.
- Balances on the Dashboard (Bills Pending, the payments chart) and the totals row of the PDF report were corrected to reflect bill balances rather than original totals.
- The Bills table keeps your search and filters when you interact with rows, instead of resetting them.
- A queue widget on the Bills page shows the status of pending sync jobs, so you can see whether a sync is scheduled, running or complete without refreshing.
- Handling of vendor bank details during sync was corrected twice, in February and April, to keep transit, institution and account numbers mapped correctly when Zoho Books returns them in a different shape.
- Two navigation fixes: users with a cancelled subscription are now sent to the right page to renew, and the redirect after login takes you to the pay panel rather than the homepage.
Admin improvements
For the Zefty team's own administration panel, used to support customers:
- Four new dashboard widgets: active subscription revenue, subscriptions this month with trend, a subscriptions chart and the latest contact requests.
- Cleaner tables for organizations, subscriptions and users, and the ability to see a user's organization memberships in one place.
You will not see these screens, but they are why a support reply can quote your last file number or subscription status without asking you for it.
Key takeaways
- New customers now have an illustrated, bilingual onboarding guide linked from the setup forms.
- Support requests go through an in-app form with subjects that route them correctly.
- The French interface is complete, from registration to subscription to bank setup.
- Zoho token refresh, corrected totals and a persistent Bills table make the daily routine more predictable.
- Privacy Policy, Terms and a Marketplace page are live in both languages.
If you have not looked at Zefty since last autumn, the features page reflects the current product, including the support form, the French interface and the sync improvements described here.
